How do I measure my pet's neck?

Using a tape measure, measure where your pet's collar would normally sit. Make sure it's not too tight or too loose. 

What size should I get for my collar?

Our collars are custom made to the measurement entered when ordering, this is why it's so important to make sure you measure correctly. We make the collars with 2" on either side of the neck measurement. For example, a collar for an 16" neck would be 14"-18" total.

Brass Hardware
We love solid brass for its durability and non-corrosive properties. This is the best and strongest metal for use in salt water. Solid Brass will not rust with water use, but we do recommend that you rinse your hardware in freshwater after using it in salt water. Then thoroughly dry with a towel.

Brass naturally patinas (turns darker) overtime when exposed to the elements (air, water, earth), as all metals do. To clean brass naturally, simply wipe brass hardware with lemon juice to shine it up, rinse with fresh water then towel dry. Store bought brass cleaners also work well and will give your hardware a protective coating, so you won't have to clean as often.

WHAT IS BIOTHANE NOT?

Indestructible! While Biothane is extremely durable, it is not impervious to puppy teeth or strong chewers. For that reason, we will not replace any product that was destroyed by your dog.

As always, supervise your pet around anything that shouldn't go in its mouth. 

Cracking Biothane / Topical Flea and Tick Medication

Topical flea and tick medication can cause Biothane to crack. We suggest removing the collar for a couple of days after you apply any topical medication.

In rare cases, some dogs have been known to produce natural oils that can cause Biothane to crack. Collars should be removed regularly for cleaning.
